Paris, Here We Come!!!

The last couple of months have been hellishly hectic for me and one of the very few sources of joy during this period has been Arsenal’s amazing run in this year’s Champions League. With a young makeshift defence and a disastrous premiership season on the side, this current Arsenal side has displayed tremendous strength of character to get this far in the tournament which has, until now, proven to be their waterloo. Agreed that they were insipid in the second leg of the semi-final against Villarreal but it was just one bad game after five great ones and anyway, Champions League semifinal matches are always nervy and cagey affairs. I'm also very happy that Jens Lehmann is finally getting the credit he deserves for an absolutely outstanding season. Henry, Fabregas, Reyes and Hleb may have caught the eye, but Eboue, Toure, Senderos, Flamini and Lehmann are the real heroes for me.

And in the end, all said and done, this year’s finale in Paris will be the dream final that everyone in the footballing world wanted to watch and there can be no arguments whatsoever about the fact that the two best teams in the tournament will be playing in it. Me, I can hardly wait. Mark your calendars, people. On the night of May 17th, at the Stade De France, it’s Arsenal vs. Barcelona, Henry vs. Ronaldinho… mouth-watering, to say the least.

Go Gunners, Go!!!

PARIS!!!!
Hopefully it will not be a repeat of the Galatasaray fiasco though...
Slisha worry about our left side I guess. Reyes was terrible and Campbell way out of touch...we badly need Ashley Cole!!!
And one hopes like mad that Bobby and Henry stay on at the Arsenal...

Hopefully, Campbell will get beck to full speed in the three remaining premiership games.. And Clichy's quite brilliant too.. guess he also needs a bit more match practice.. but the right is where we can hit them.. ronaldinho going off to the centre Gio we know about.. So Hleb and Eboue can be superstars!!! :)

the two best teams in the Champions League? certainly not. The fact that premiership is out of their reach, they have been able to perform in CL. And, for the first time Henry has performed in Europe. I hope they dont do a liverpool! :)

hehe..Its funny you should mention Waterloo with the half the team being French :D I think playing in Paris would be a great advantage. After all its home for not only the Manager but players as well.
Barcelona are a good team but I feel they are a bit overrated. Arsenal can do it! Go Gunners!!!

Good old Arsenal,
We're proud to say that name,
And while we sing this song,
We'll win the game.

Man U was better.

And if the French people do half as well in Germany as they have in this CL, look out Brazil!

The end of the road for Arsenal will finally come at the hands of Ronaldinho's Barca and there is no doubt about which is a better side Barca or Barca. Agreed that there have been some good on and off performances from the youngsters at Arsenal... but it leaves a lot to be desired from a team which once won some 52 games on a trot and won the english championship for 2 consecutive years(i think...)...I believe many will agree to this

Juve & Barca.. what a final that would have been! Only cos Juve had some crucial matches in their domestic league, they were below par against Arsenal and Arsenal didnt have to worry about their domestic league at all!! It'll take 2 more seasons for Arsenal to be a force in epl. It'll take more than 2 if Fabregas leaves. Luck might jus be on Arsenal's side on May 17th!

Man U?? hehehehehe... good one there!!

In a group with European Giants Benfica, Villareal and Lille, they finished fourth, and didn't even qualify for the UEFA Cup. Stunning performance indeed!!! Bravo!!!

I'll admit that Barca are clear favourites but don't make the mistake of counting out the Gunners just yet.. So far, Arsenal has played a different game for each opponent and you can count on canny Arsene Wenger to come up with something for Barca too...

Juve and Barca, gimme a break..

And what do you mean Arsenal didn't have to worry about the league??? 4th place and Champions League qualification in doubt!!! In contrast, Juve had a comfortable lead in the Serie A.. if anyone had to worry, it was Arsenal.. Just say Juve played crap and leave it at that..

@Vinod,

Moi thinks Barca is the better team but still, Arsenal will win the trophy.

Never liked Arsenal's game nor Henry but don't know, just a hunch that Arsenal are gonna sneak through this one.

Cheers,

I think AC Milan vs Barca would have been a dream final. But like always a team least expected reaches the final in CL, same for this year, when Arsenal or to be precise Henry (One man team) has played superb football. Seeing the past winners in Liverpool and Porto, I won't be surprised if Arsenal wins this time round. Still I will be supporting Barca, just because they have the finest footballer of the era. Do I need to name him?
